Canaan

Wormholes (Lepus) Canaan walk-through, completed in 1:12.9

This is a modification of the strategy used on a previous post on Canaan. The previous strategy denied one of the opponents the planet they wanted for their initial capture. This strategy denies both of your opponents.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:04, capture the planet adjacent to one of your opponents. In this video I capture the planet adjacent to green. This approach works no matter which planet you capture first.
  2. From 0:05 to 0:18, using units from both of your planets, capture the planet adjacent to your other opponent, in this video that is orange. If either of your opponents move to capture one of these adjacent planets, start over.
  3. From 0:19 to 0:22, for about 3 seconds send units from all of your planets to a point near the double planet of one of your opponents. In this video I send them near the orange opponent, this will work for either opponent, I’m just used to doing this on the orange side.
  4. From 0:23 to 0:27, continue sending units from your initial planet to the mass of units you are building up near orange.
  5. From 0:28 to 0:34, use the attack and release method to get orange to attempt to double their planet. When they absorb all of their units into the planet, use your mass of units and new units from the two closest planets to attack and destroy the orange planet.
  6. From 0:34 to 0:45, send all of your units to a point near the green double planet.
  7. From 0:46 to 0:50, when green attacks your planet, attack and destroy the green double planet. While you are destroying the double planet you also want to reinforce your planet being attacked. You just want to reinforce it just enough so it isn’t destroyed, you do not want to restore it fully.
  8. From 0:51 to 1:00, bring all of your units back to the orange side. When orange tries to capture a planet, attack and destroy it.
  9. From 1:01 to 1:12, move your units away from the remaining planet. when that planet attacks and destroys your weakened planet, attack and destroy the last green planet.

Canaan

Wormholes (Lepus) Canaan walk-through, completed in 1:33.3

Canaan only has one wormhole with its entrance near the initial position of your opponents and its exit at a pair of triple planets. With just one entrance for the opponents to use, it is possible to get both opponents to send units into the wormhole that will cancel each other out and prevent either opponent from capturing one of the triple planets.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:17, double your initial planet and then capture an adjacent planet. In this video I capture the planet on the orange side.
  2. From 0:18 to 0:25, now you want to preposition some units that you’ll be using to destroy the bottom orange planet.
  3. From 0:26 to 0:39, use the attack and release move to get the bottom orange planet to absorb all of its orbiting units. Then you need to attack, destroy and capture the bottom orange planet. At 0:28 orange sends units into the wormhole towards one of the triple planets on the far right. Since the number of units that orange sent isn’t enough to capture one of the planets it just leaves those units in the wormhole. This is very important to you getting a good time.
  4. From 0:40 to 0:59, gather all of your units onto your double planet. This is to get them in position for the next phase and to discourage green from attacking.
  5. From 1:00 to 1:09, wait until both orange and green send their excess units into the wormhole. It’s by orange and green both sending similar amounts of units that they will cancel each other out. When that happens, attack and destroy both green double planets.
  6. From 1:10 to 1:20, you now have two single planets left to destroy. The problem is they both have a bunch of excess units on them. Using the units left over from destroy the green double planets, attack the orange single planet but do it by brushing past the green single planet to destroy some of its excess units. This will prevent green from capturing another planet while you are destroying orange.

From here you only have a single planet left to destroy.
