Bypass

Force (Bootes) Bypass walk-through, completed in 2:02.5

This is the strategy used in a previous post on Bypass with one exception. In step 8, I use the units already out from under the force field to attack the orange single planet. This is a minor modification, but it  seemed to make a big difference.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:17, double your initial planet and capture the single planet on the orange side.
  2. From 0:18 to 0:31, capture the remaining single planet on the orange side.
  3. From 0:32 to 0:43, capture the single planet on the green side.
  4. From 0:44 to 0:47, promote your initial planet to triple.
  5. From 0:48 to 0:54, as soon as orange gets its double and triple planets promoted all the way, start attacking the orange single planet through the force field. When orange sends reinforcements to the single planet, release your attack. If orange attacks you instead of reinforcing its single planet, start over.
  6. From 0:55 to 1:03, when orange attacks the top green single planet you need to start attacking the orange single planet until orange sends reinforcements again. If orange attacks you instead of reinforcing its single planet, start over.
  7. From 1:04 to 1:12, when orange sends the reinforcements start moving your units out from under the force field. As you are moving your units from under the force field, use an attack on the orange single to get orange to send reinforcements there.
  8. From 1:13 to 1:16, as you are still bringing units out from under the force field, use the mass of units that is already out to attack the orange single. This is to try and get orange to send reinforcements there. In this video orange didn’t send reinforcements. This did however get the mass of units next to the orange triple without orange reinforcing the triple planet.
  9. From 1:17 to 1:26, destroy the orange triple and double planets.
  10. From 1:27 to 1:44, continue getting units out from under the force field and send the units that are already out through the vertical force field over to the green side.
  11. From 1:45 to 1:52, attack and destroy the green triple and green double planets.

At this point I was very fortunate that green had destroyed the orange single planet but didn’t capture it. Because of this, there were only two green planets left to destroy.

Bypass

Force (Bootes) Bypass walk-through, completed in 2:16.5

This is the same strategy I used in a previous post on Bypass.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:47, the initial captures. At the end of this phase you want to have all the bottom planets captured and your triple promoted, as well as capturing one of the single planets on the wing. How you go about capturing these planets depends on how your opponents react. If I’m unable to capture all of these, I start over.
  2. From 0:48 to 0:52, you are going to be directing your attacks against the opponent where you have captured the single planet on the wing. In this video that is orange. Right now, just build up your units on your triple planet until orange gets both its triple and double planets promoted.
  3. From 0:53 to 0:56, as soon as orange gets both its double and triple planets promoted, use all the units on your triple planet to attack the top orange single planet.
  4. From 0:57 to 1:00, when orange sends reinforcements to the top single planet, remove your attack. This will allow orange to use those units to attack green.
  5. From 1:01 to 1:04, as soon as orange attacks green, resume your attack on the top orange single planet.
  6. From 1:05 to 1:08, as soon as orange sends reinforcements from both its double and triple planets up to the top single planet, release your attack and start sending units out from the bottom where you can use them for an attack on orange.
  7. From 1:09 to 1:11, while positioning your units for an attack on orange, watch the orange top single planet and as soon as it sends its units to attack green, resume your attack on it.
  8. From 1:12 to 1:15, as soon as orange sends reinforcements to the top planet, release your attack and continue positioning units next to orange.
  9. From 1:16 to 1:19, resume your attack on the top single planet.
  10. From 1:19 to 1:23, keep sending units from the bottom up near orange and wait for orange to send its mass of units from the top single planet to attack green.
  11. From 1:24 to 1:39, now you want to attack and destroy both the orange triple and double planets. Here I captured the green double planet, but I don’t think I needed to do that.
  12. From 1:40 to 1:49, send your mass of units over to the green side but don’t attack any of the green planets.
  13. From 1:50 to 2:00, as soon as green starts attacking the orange single planet, you want to take out the green double and triple planets.

From here you just have two green single planets that you need to destroy, while also making sure they don’t capture another planet.

Bypass

Force (Bootes), Bypass walk-through, completed in 2:23.4

When I first played Bypass, I thought you had to be lucky to even complete it, but after playing for a while, I finally developed an approach that usually results in a good time.  The basis of the approach is to capture all three planets on the bottom and one singleton on the side.  This will cause the opponents to be unbalanced, but the approach requires more than that.

The best way to beat Bypass in a good time is the same as it is for most of the Auralux games, you need to get your opponents to attack each other.  To do this in Bypass, you can take advantage of the wall of force that is against you.  Even though your units can’t pass through the wall, the effect of your attack can.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:49, this is just the initial captures and promotion of your triple planet.
  2. From 0:50 to 0:57, this is the initial attack through the force.  The attack is against the orange top singleton.  It doesn’t always happen, but often enough orange will send units from its triple and double planets to reinforce the singleton.  That is when you remove the attack.  Orange discovers that it has too many units for the singleton and uses them to attack green.
  3. From 0:58 to 1:12, you keep attacking and removing the attack on the orange singleton to keep all of the orange units going to the top of the board and away from you.
  4. From 1:13 to 1:23, start peeling units off for an eventual attack on orange. Even while you are assembling the units for the eventual attack, take advantage of attacking the orange singleton to keep orange sending units to the top.
  5. From 1:24 to 1:42, destroy the orange triple and double planets and then capture those planets.
  6. From 1:43 to 2:04, you now have your units in position to pass through the vertical force wall and use them to attack green.

From here on out you just need to clean up the best way possible.
