Epoch

Wormholes (Lepus) Epoch walk-through, completed in 34.2

This is the same strategy used in a previous post on Epoch. The only refinement is to pay attention to what happens to the units that collide in the wormhole. If there are few enough units left for each opponent the units will remain scattered around the wormhole. When this happens each of the opponents will continually absorb their new units in an attempt to promote their planet to a double. This makes it easier and quicker to destroy them.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:12, double your initial planet and wait. If orange and green do anything other than both head for the wormhole at approximately the same time, start over.
  2. From 0:13 to 0:23, you need at least one of your opponents to leave their excess units scattered around the wormhole. If only one does, attack the other opponent first, with the attack and release method to get them to absorb their units. In this case, both opponents left the units scattered around the wormhole and both are continuously absorbing their new units in an attempt to upgrade their planet. This is the best scenario. Choose an opponent to take out first, then take them out by sending your units to a point past the planet. This allows them to keep absorbing new units while your units are in transit. When your units get to the planet, attack and destroy.
  3. From 0:24 to 0:34, attack and destroy the remaining planet using the same approach.

There are times when the units scattered around the wormhose will coalesce and either attempt to capture a planet, or come back to the double planet that is trying to promote itself.

Castles

Supernovas (Hercules), Castles walk-through, completed in 1:24.0

This is a completely new strategy that shares almost nothing in common with the strategy used in a previous post on Castles.

This strategy takes advantage of how slowly your opponents develop in the beginning. The object is to force one opponent to double up their initial planet, then use the supernova adjacent to them to destroy them before they can spread. Since the other opponent is developing so slowly, they will usually stay contained within their initial enclave during this process.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:02, double your initial planet.
  2. From 0:03 to 0:07, send some units towards one of the single planets adjacent to green. Then send newly created units to the other single planet adjacent to green. If green does anything but double its planet prior to your units reaching the single planets, start over.
  3. From 0:08 to 0:21, redirect all of your units to the supernova in front of green, then start sending all of your newly created units towards the far single planet. Go back and forth between sending newly created units to the far single planet and then as those units approach the single planet redirecting them to the supernova. You are trying to trigger the supernova prior to green capturing another planet. By attacking the far single planet you are forcing green to attempt to capture the nearer planet, where it is easy for you to use some of your units to prevent its capture, if necessary. Keep doing this until you trigger the supernova.
  4. From 0:22 to 0:29, use the units from the supernova to destroy the green double planet.
  5. From 0:30 to 0:38, gather your units, then start attacking the orange double planet. When you units pass over the single planet in front of the orange enclave, capture the planet.
  6. From 0:39 to 0:48, you don’t want to attack the supernova directly or orange may trigger the supernova before your units get there. First, build up your units on the single planet. Use these units to attack the orange double planet.  When your units pass over the supernova, redirect those units into the supernova and trigger it. If orange is able to spread to another planet prior to triggering its supernova, start over.
  7. From 0:49 to 0:57, after the supernova, destroy the orange double planet.

From here you just need to destroy the two remaining single planets. You’ll get the best time by waiting for the last planet to send its units to try to capture the double planet prior to destroying it.

Cirque

Wormholes (Lepus) Cirque walk-through, completed in 1:35.7

This is a modification of the strategy used in a previous post on Cirque. Just like in the previous post, your opponents will send units into the wormhole and just leave them there. If those units finally come out of the wormhole and attack each other, you can get a very good time.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:09, capture the planet just above the green initial planet. You are denying this double planet to green while allowing orange to capture its double planet.
  2. From 0:10 to 0:17, send units from your two planets out to the right.
  3. From 0:18 to 0:21, use your mass of units to attack the planet just above the two orange planets. You are trying to force orange to double up one of their planets instead of capturing the planet you attacked. This works best when orange doubles their bottom double planet.
  4. From 0:22 to 0:33, when orange doubles their planet, capture the remaining two planets on the right side.
  5. From 0:34 to 0:43, capture the top planet on the left side. Only use units from your top three planets. You need to leave units on the planet next to green, because it will attack soon. Notice that I started out attacking the bottom orange double planet. I was trying to get orange to send reinforcements there and away from the unoccupied planet. It didn’t work, but was worth the try.
  6. From 0:44 to 0:56, send units from all of your planets except the one adjacent to green to a spot near the top orange planet. Use the attack and release method to get orange to attempt to promote their top planet. When orange absorbs their units in an attempt to double, destroy the orange planet. At the same time, reinforce the planet adjacent to green after green attacks.
  7. From 0:57 to 0:59, this is the key part that makes this strategy work. Both opponents use the units they’ve sent into the wormholes to attack their opponents bottom planets. You’ll only get a really good time if your opponents cooperate in this way.
  8. From 1:00 to 1:08, while your opponents are attacking each other, mass your units next to the orange double planet. Then, attack and destroy the orange double planet.
  9. From 1:09 to 1:17, destroy the remaining orange planet.
  10. From 1:18 to 1:21, start sending units from your planets adjacent to the green double planet. While doing this send your excess units from destroying the last orange planet into the wormhole.
  11. From 1:22 to 1:29, destroy the green double planet.

All that is left is destroying the remaining green planet.

Fleece

Minefields (Andromeda) Fleece walk-through, completed in 1:40.4

If you can prevent your opponents from capturing planets within the minefields you can get a really good time on Fleece. The more units your opponents waste on attempting to capture a minefield planet, the better.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:06, double your initial planet.
  2. From 0:07 to 0:17, capture the top single planet closest to you.
  3. From 0:18 to 0:29, capture the single planet just to the right of the one you just captured.
  4. From 0:30 to 0:37, capture the bottom single planet just under the one you just captured.
  5. From 0:38 to 0:42, capture the remaining single planet.
  6. From 0:43 to 0:56, collect your units on one of your front single planets. You are waiting for one of your opponents to try capturing a planet within the minefield. In this video, orange makes the first move. When that happens, destroy and then capture the planet that orange is using to attempt to capture the minefield planet.
  7. From 0:57 to 1:08, orange almost captured the minefield planet. If that is the case, send some units to weaken that planet. Then start building up units adjacent to green as it will make its move to capture the minefield planet soon.
  8. From 1:09 to 1:12, send some units towards the minefield planet adjacent to green. Green is taking so much time to decide what to do and this seemed like a good way to get green to make a move.
  9. From 1:13 to 1:18, when green makes a move to capture it’s minefield planet, destroy the green single planet making the attempt.
  10. From 1:19 to 1:22, destroy the green triple planet.
  11. From 1:23 to 1:29, destroy the remaining orange planet and the green planet closest to you.
  12. From 1:30 to 1:31, green has almost captured the minefield planet, send some units to weaken its partial capture.

All that is left is destroying the remaining green planets as fast as possible. The key to the time achieved in this video is that both opponents failed to capture a minefield planet. When they tried, they came within a couple of units of completing the capture and required sending some units to weaken the partial capture, but that is a lot quicker than needing to destroy one or more of those minefield planets.

Centrum

Supernovas (Hercules) Centrum walk-through, completed in 2:03.2

The strategy used here is a modification of the strategy used in a previous post on Centrum. The main differences are in capturing the center planet, thus denying it to green and destroying the green triple earlier. In addition the double planet is ignored, allowing the supernova to be triggered sooner.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:02, double your initial planet.
  2. From 0:03 to 0:10, send some units off to the right, wait a little and then send them towards the single planet adjacent to green.
  3. From 0:11 to 0:17, while those units area heading towards the single planet, promote your initial planet to a triple.
  4. From 0:18 to 0:24, redirect all of your units to the center single planet.
  5. From 0:25 to 0:30, send a few units towards the single planet adjacent to green, then continue capturing the center single planet.
  6. From 0:31 to 0:40, capture the single planet adjacent to green.
  7. From 0:41 to 0:46, keep building up your units on the single planet adjacent to green. You are waiting for green to promote their initial planet to a triple. If green sends units from their double planet to help in promoting their triple, start over, as this will get the green triple promoted before you are ready to destroy it.
  8. From 0:47 to 0:59, as soon as green starts promoting their triple planet, you want to attack, destroy, capture and promote that planet.
  9. From 1:00 to 1:10, use units from your triple planet to capture its adjacent single planet, while doing this promote your other triple planet.
  10. From 1:11 to 1:17, when orange starts attacking the green double planets, send all of your units to your center planet.
  11. From 1:18 to 1:21, use your mass of units to attack the orange double planet. You are trying to time this right so that orange can destroy the green planets, and your are using this attack on the orange double to get orange to send reinforcements back there and prevent orange from having enough units to capture the green planets it just destroyed.
  12. From 1:22 to 1:28, when your mass of units is over the supernova, attack and trigger the supernova.
  13. From 1:29 to 1:35, after the supernova, you want to destroy the orange double planet first. While you are doing this, look at the double planets orange just destroyed and notice which one orange is closest to capturing.
  14. From 1:36 to 1:39, attack and destroy the front orange single on the side you noticed in the previous step. At the same time use the units left from destroying the orange double planet to destroy the back orange single.
  15. From 1:40 to 1:44, send all units to destroy the top orange planet.
  16. From 1:45 to 1:49, destroy the center orange planet.
  17. From 1:50 to 1:53, destroy the front orange planet.

From here, you just have to destroy the remaining two orange planets in the quickest manner possible.
