Supernovas (Hercules), Castles walk-through, completed in 1:24.0

This is a completely new strategy that shares almost nothing in common with the strategy used in a previous post on Castles.

This strategy takes advantage of how slowly your opponents develop in the beginning. The object is to force one opponent to double up their initial planet, then use the supernova adjacent to them to destroy them before they can spread. Since the other opponent is developing so slowly, they will usually stay contained within their initial enclave during this process.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:02, double your initial planet.
  2. From 0:03 to 0:07, send some units towards one of the single planets adjacent to green. Then send newly created units to the other single planet adjacent to green. If green does anything but double its planet prior to your units reaching the single planets, start over.
  3. From 0:08 to 0:21, redirect all of your units to the supernova in front of green, then start sending all of your newly created units towards the far single planet. Go back and forth between sending newly created units to the far single planet and then as those units approach the single planet redirecting them to the supernova. You are trying to trigger the supernova prior to green capturing another planet. By attacking the far single planet you are forcing green to attempt to capture the nearer planet, where it is easy for you to use some of your units to prevent its capture, if necessary. Keep doing this until you trigger the supernova.
  4. From 0:22 to 0:29, use the units from the supernova to destroy the green double planet.
  5. From 0:30 to 0:38, gather your units, then start attacking the orange double planet. When you units pass over the single planet in front of the orange enclave, capture the planet.
  6. From 0:39 to 0:48, you don’t want to attack the supernova directly or orange may trigger the supernova before your units get there. First, build up your units on the single planet. Use these units to attack the orange double planet.  When your units pass over the supernova, redirect those units into the supernova and trigger it. If orange is able to spread to another planet prior to triggering its supernova, start over.
  7. From 0:49 to 0:57, after the supernova, destroy the orange double planet.

From here you just need to destroy the two remaining single planets. You’ll get the best time by waiting for the last planet to send its units to try to capture the double planet prior to destroying it.

Cirque

Wormholes (Lepus) Cirque walk-through, completed in 1:35.7

This is a modification of the strategy used in a previous post on Cirque. Just like in the previous post, your opponents will send units into the wormhole and just leave them there. If those units finally come out of the wormhole and attack each other, you can get a very good time.

Walk-through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:09, capture the planet just above the green initial planet. You are denying this double planet to green while allowing orange to capture its double planet.
  2. From 0:10 to 0:17, send units from your two planets out to the right.
  3. From 0:18 to 0:21, use your mass of units to attack the planet just above the two orange planets. You are trying to force orange to double up one of their planets instead of capturing the planet you attacked. This works best when orange doubles their bottom double planet.
  4. From 0:22 to 0:33, when orange doubles their planet, capture the remaining two planets on the right side.
  5. From 0:34 to 0:43, capture the top planet on the left side. Only use units from your top three planets. You need to leave units on the planet next to green, because it will attack soon. Notice that I started out attacking the bottom orange double planet. I was trying to get orange to send reinforcements there and away from the unoccupied planet. It didn’t work, but was worth the try.
  6. From 0:44 to 0:56, send units from all of your planets except the one adjacent to green to a spot near the top orange planet. Use the attack and release method to get orange to attempt to promote their top planet. When orange absorbs their units in an attempt to double, destroy the orange planet. At the same time, reinforce the planet adjacent to green after green attacks.
  7. From 0:57 to 0:59, this is the key part that makes this strategy work. Both opponents use the units they’ve sent into the wormholes to attack their opponents bottom planets. You’ll only get a really good time if your opponents cooperate in this way.
  8. From 1:00 to 1:08, while your opponents are attacking each other, mass your units next to the orange double planet. Then, attack and destroy the orange double planet.
  9. From 1:09 to 1:17, destroy the remaining orange planet.
  10. From 1:18 to 1:21, start sending units from your planets adjacent to the green double planet. While doing this send your excess units from destroying the last orange planet into the wormhole.
  11. From 1:22 to 1:29, destroy the green double planet.

All that is left is destroying the remaining green planet.
