Nucleus

Classic (Pegasus) Nucleus walk-through, completed in 1:09.7

The strategy for Nucleus is to set up a blockade and wait for your opponents to attack each other. It doesn’t always work out as you want, but if you’re patient it will eventually come out right.

Walk through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:02, double your initial planet.
  2. From 0:03 to 0:19, alternately attack the far left and far right double planets. As soon as you get one of your opponents to send its units to capture a bottom planet, start sending all of your units to capture the opposite double planet.
  3. From 0:20 to 0:29, capture the center single planet.
  4. From 0:30 to 0:38, capture the opposite double planet. For this capture, do not use units from your rightmost double planet. You want the units to build up on that planet to discourage orange from attacking.
  5. From 0:38 to 0:55, this doesn’t happen very often where one of the opponents has a large excess of units on its bottom planet. In this case green uses that excess to attack orange. Green isn’t quite successful in destroying the orange double, so we start helping out, until green finishes the job.
  6. From 0:56 to 0:58, now destroy the top orange double planet.
  7. From 0:59 to 1:04, attack and destroy the bottom green double planet.

All that is left now is for you to destroy the remaining green planet.

Split

Classic (Pegasus) Split walk-through, completed in 1:34.8

Your opponents in Split seem deliberate and sometimes take forever before they will capture or attack another planet. The strategy presented here takes advantage of any imbalance in strength between the opponents and then amplifies the advantage the strongest opponent has by using a low level attack on the weakest opponent in an attempt to make it an attractive target.

Walk through

  1. From 0:00 to 0:15, promote your initial planet all the way to triple.
  2. From 0:16 to 0:46, capture all of the planets on the bottom two levels.
  3. From 0:47 to 0:56, evenly distribute your units on your top two planets. What you are preparing for is doing a low level attack on the weakest of your opponents. In this video, green was slower in capturing and promoting its planets.
  4. From 0:57 to 1:05, when orange sends a mass of units down to its bottom planet start a low level attack against the bottom green planet. You are trying to get this planet to appear weak to orange and prompt orange to attack it.
  5. From 1:06 to 1:16, when orange attacks, send units from your top left planet up near the green double planet and simultaneously send your other units up near the orange double planet.
  6. From 1:17 to 1:21, after orange sends units from its middle planet down to the bottom, attack and destroy the orange double planet.
  7. From 1:22 to 1:26, since green has initiated an attack on orange, simultaneously attack and destroy the green double planet and the top remaining orange planet.

Now you only have one orange and one green planet left to destroy. Be aware of partial captures and make sure you prevent your opponents from capturing another planet.
