Hex is really easy. A really good time is also easy, as long as you’re prepared to try enough times for your opponents to react in the way shown in this video.
- From 0:00 to 0:19, capture the planet next to green. As soon as that planet is captured, use units from both of your planets to capture the planet next to orange.
- From 0:20 to 0:24, you can get good times without this happening, but the best times are when the opponent that captures the second planet, uses units from that second planet to try to promote its original planet. When this happens just prior to you capturing your third planet, then it may prompt an attack from the other opponent (orange in this case). This is when your best times will occur.
- From 0:25 to 0:33, orange has a partial capture on the planet it just destroyed. This used to cause me to attack orange first to prevent it from capturing that planet. Then I discovered that my best time comes when I do the opposite of that and attack green first. The reason is that orange is more likely to send units to the partially captured planet sooner than green would, if it doesn’t capture the planet, this will make orange weaker and easier to destroy.
From here all that is left is to attack and destroy the remaining orange planet.
